At WatchHouse, people are the core of everything we do, and Lucy Bond’s incredible journey is a testament to that. Lucy first joined WatchHouse in 2020, right as the company was emerging from the challenges of lockdown and launching its own Roastery. She began as House Manager at the newly refurbished Bermondsey Street House and later took on managing at Somerset House. Her deep understanding of operations and commitment to excellence led to her transition into the operations team as Brand Standards & Training Manager in 2021, where she was responsible for training management teams and creating standards as WatchHouse expanded as a business.

In 2022, Lucy took on the role of New House Openings Manager, overseeing the launch of new locations from our seventh House. When WatchHouse made the monumental move to open internationally, Lucy was pivotal, transitioning into the role of Head of Openings. She oversaw the development, recruitment, and cultural onboarding for the international expansion. Her proudest professional milestone? Overseeing the launch of WatchHouse’s first U.S. House on the iconic 5th Avenue in New York City, where she now also manages operations.

A standout memory for Lucy will always be the morning the New York WatchHouse on 5th Avenue opened its doors to customers. This project was a real labour of love, filled with challenges and excitement. Having seen WatchHouse grow from five neighbourhood locations in London to opening on 5th Avenue is an incredible achievement and something Lucy holds close to her heart.

What she loves most about her job is the constant challenges and opportunities. WatchHouse’s rapid growth means that there’s always something new to develop, structure, and systemise. Lucy is given trust and autonomy in her role, allowing her to contribute to meaningful changes and developments across the business. Her coffee order? An oat flat white, no matter the weather.

Lucy has hit several career milestones during her time at WatchHouse, from opening multiple London locations to managing the company’s first international expansion. WatchHouse, for Lucy, is all about the people she works with – the brilliant and talented professionals who make the company what it is today.
