Stephanie Gregg’s journey at WatchHouse is one of passion, dedication, and growth – a perfect reflection of the people-centric approach that defines the brand. Stephanie joined WatchHouse in 2014, not long after the Bermondsey Street location opened. She started as a barista but quickly moved into the role of House Manager. As WatchHouse expanded, so did Stephanie’s responsibilities, and she transitioned into the role of Operations Manager, overseeing everything from accounts and tech to food development and marketing.
By the time WatchHouse opened its fourth location at Spitalfields in 2019, Stephanie had become Operations Director, a role that saw her guiding the company’s day-to-day operations with a focus on growth and quality. After returning from maternity leave in 2023, she transitioned into her current role as Culture Director, where her focus is on ensuring that WatchHouse maintains its strong, people-first culture as it continues to grow.
For Stephanie, it’s impossible to choose just one favourite WatchHouse memory because there have been so many incredible moments. But one thing remains consistent: the people. It’s the memories of the amazing individuals she’s worked with over the years, and what they’ve achieved together, that stand out the most.
The thing Stephanie loves most about her role is the team – the wonderful, passionate people at WatchHouse who make it such a special place to work. She also values the trust and opportunities she’s been given to drive the business forward. Her go-to coffee order is a simple filter, keeping it classic.
One of Stephanie’s key achievements was being trusted with the responsibility of becoming a Director early in her career – a role she has held with pride. WatchHouse holds a special place in Stephanie’s heart, as she fondly says, “WatchHouse was my first baby!” Having spent the majority of her career here, Stephanie has seen the brand grow, make mistakes, and learn together.
Looking to the future, Stephanie is passionate about ensuring that hospitality is seen as a career with serious progression opportunities. She’s dedicated to showing others that WatchHouse can be a place for professional growth and success, just as it has been for her. Stephanie is committed to fostering a people-first culture and helping WatchHouse become a best-in-class employer.
