Written by WatchHouse .
As part of our 10th Birthday celebrations, we’re thrilled to introduce the third edition in our Rarities series: Los Rodriguez Gesha Coco Natural. This limited-edition coffee embodies the dedication and craftsmanship that defines WatchHouse. Available for pre-order for one week only, it will be exclusively available in our Houses and on Batch during the week commencing 16th September.
Los Rodriguez Gesha Coco Natural originates from Finca Alasitas, a farm nestled in Bolivia’s lush Caranavi region. Located 10 kilometres from the town of Caranavi in La Paz, on the edge of the Amazon, the farm benefits from a unique microclimate. The Gesha plot sits at the top of a hill, basking in morning sunlight and thriving in fertile soil. This distinct environment, combined with the Rodriguez family’s signature ‘Coco Natural’ process, produces a coffee that is both complex and incredibly balanced. The ‘Coco Natural’ process is a meticulous method where coffee cherries are slowly dried using a cacao drying machine after sun oxidation. This technique results in a clean cup with layers of flavour that develop as the coffee cools.
The Rodriguez family has been a cornerstone of Bolivian specialty coffee for decades. Pedro Rodriguez, along with his children Daniela and Pedro Pablo, leads Agricafe, a company that has transformed the coffee landscape in Bolivia. Founded in the 1980s, Agricafe initially aimed to promote coffee cultivation over coca. However, when more farmers began leaving the coffee industry, the Rodriguez family took on the challenge themselves. In the 2010s, they started growing their own high-end specialty coffee and now operate 12 farms while supporting around 100 partner producers through their Sol de la Mañana program. This program offers training and support to improve agricultural practices, thus enhancing productivity and coffee quality across the region.
Rarities Edition 03: Los Rodriguez Gesha Coco Natural is available for pre-order now for one week only. After that, you can find it in our Houses and on Batch starting the week of 16th September. Given the limited nature of this release, we recommend securing your batch early to ensure you don’t miss out on this exceptional coffee.
As we celebrate a decade of WatchHouse, we wanted to mark the occasion with something truly special. Los Rodriguez Gesha Coco Natural is not just a coffee; it’s a testament to the passion, expertise, and dedication that goes into every cup we serve. Join us in celebrating our journey by experiencing this rare and extraordinary coffee.
