- Info.
This lot comes from Megadu, a 220-hectare farm in the Guji highlands, run by Bette Buna. Founded by Dawit and Hester in 2020, Bette Buna is known for community-rooted coffee production and forward-thinking fermentation, with traceability at the core. This is their first release from Megadu into our line-up.
Natural anaerobic processing takes place in sealed tanks before cherries are slow-dried in solar dryers on ceramic patios and layered beds. The farm employs 850 seasonal and full-time workers, offering housing, food, transport and satellite schooling during harvest. A considered coffee from a farm designed around long-term change.
Whilst we have been collaborating with Bette Buna for three years, this is the first time buying coffee from Megadu, Guji. This experimental natural anaerobic is tropical, vibrant and layered and challenges ideas of usual Ethiopian profiles.
