Carefully curated. Harmoniously balanced. 1829 Espresso is our seasonal espresso for milk. We source, roast and brew this coffee specifically for an exceptional milk based experience.

Coffee runs deep in Taferi Kela. It’s where Dawit’s grandfather farmed for decades, and where Dawit and his partner Hester founded Bette Buna in 2020, with a vision to do things differently. Equal opportunities, transparent supply, and careful farming, shared across their own land and with a growing network of partner producers.

Cherries are floated, fermented for up to 72 hours, then soaked and dried slowly. The result is warm and polished: milk chocolate, juicy peach, a thread of honey. Subtle, smooth, and exactly what we look for in an 1829 Espresso.

This is the third year of our partnership with Bette Buna. The project focuses on social impact through equal opportunity employment, value creation for small producers and sustainable farm practices and it's an honour to be able to contribute.
